XNIGHTSTARR.FM is an independent artist, producer, filmmaker, and world-builder creating music and visual art at the intersection of underground rap, dark fantasy, post-apocalyptic mythology, and experimental culture. Working under the self-titled genre of firecore, XNIGHTSTARR treats music not simply as entertainment, but as a medium for storytelling, philosophy, atmosphere, and personal transformation.

Built around an expanding catalog of albums, mixtapes, music videos, documentaries, live broadcasts, beats, and visual projects, the XNIGHTSTARR universe includes album works such as Dark Arts, Knight Train, Whorrorwolf, Doom Bap, FacegodTheFather, FallofTheUnderwxrld, Thieves of Virtue, and the 22-song project Heartbroken Ruins No Future. Across these projects, recurring imagery and metaphors of ruins, warriors, ghosts, technology, magic, memory, violence, beauty, and rebirth create a connected mythology.

At the center of the work is an interest in beauty, freedom, self-overcoming, and the relationship between art and life. XNIGHTSTARR draws from street culture, video games, martial arts, mythology, cinema, philosophy, old broadcast technology, VHS, CRT imagery, and underground music to create work that feels simultaneously ancient and futuristic.

The project also extends beyond music into what XNIGHTSTARR describes as an Open Art Economy — a philosophy and system built around abundance, accessibility, and circulation. Rather than treating art solely as a scarce commodity, the goal is to make music and creative work available for artists, filmmakers, streamers, game creators, supervisors, and audiences to use, reinterpret, and build upon through flexible licensing and pay-what-you-want models.

For XNIGHTSTARR, the objective isn't simply fame. It is to create enough art to build a world around it — and to make that world capable of sustaining the person who created it.

• City of Austin Live Musicians Grant winner (2023)
• Produced the Open Art Economy Launch show for the City of Austin Live Music Fund at Come and Take It Live (formerly known as MusikBuyers)
• Conceptualized, promoted, and headlined an ongoing Austin-wide performance series under the name Art Pile, formerly performing as "Sexface" / "Ever Scarlett"
• Created and headlined "Rage," a local New Orleans event
• Consistently headlined 18Below, an Austin community music group, at SXSW and venues including Hotel Vegas, Long Center, Irie Bean Coffee, and Spiderhouse
• Opened for Joey Bada$$ at Scoot Inn Theatre in downtown Austin
• Created and headlined a private performance in San Antonio, opening opportunity for local artist Pda.Go
• Wrote and self-recorded 9 studio albums and 10 underground mixtapes over 16 years, half of them self-produced
• Self-produced 30 music videos and several short documentaries on performance art and show history
• Performed at the Vortex Everyword poetry event
• Self-developed the XNIGHTSTARR sync licensing system and Open Art Economy company for underground artists (xnightstarr.com, formerly MusikBuyers)
• Collaborated with a known member of the Wu-Tang Clan (2nd Generation Wu, Intell)
• Created an animated short film / music video
• Launched a Patreon with exclusive content and an artist philosophy podcast

How do you feel being underground?

I like keeping it exclusive, too many people had access before.

What's the vibe of the Heartbreak tape?

It's to create a new culture… in a world filled with greed ending so many people and environments, potential downfalls of society, AI taking over, and overall uncertainty, there isn't many people that I've seen that have created a way to adapt or express what life can and will be like, or what it will turn into beyond this. Everyone is just kind of living in the moment and acting now asking questions later… Xnightstarr is a Broadcast for people to understand themselves, face uncertainty with courage and a blueprint for artists to still sustain their lives while doing so.

If people don't respond well how do you take it?

I take it like only the sacred gets the cultural awareness I'm bringing. If u get it you're one of the few whose ahead of the curve.

The people who do like it really have game in some aspect, it's like a different crowd — filmmakers, fighters, skaters, video game programmers, glitch dancers, tat artists, all kinds of artists in their own right. & for the others, it'll hit when it's meant too, because it's def not something normal.

What was life like when making this?

It was a lot like other tapes and businesses in the past, verge of homelessness, life chaos that kilt my vibe a lot but it resurrected a new era too, more motivation and focus, like I got to do this type vibe… especially w my son just being born, I've dove in this hard many times in the past but this extent is like a spirit is surrounding me and my work that pushes and changes my direction.

The site and community is a response to that chaos, building a castle to consolidate resources then holding a sword with courage to face lifes uncertainty. I've fully devoted to this. Producing tons of my own music, doing as many shows as possible, even studied cybersecurity, dropshipping and websites over the years to be able to do this.

What's your spirituality?

I'd say I'm an existential rebel or rugged individualist. Like I take from a lot of things. Buddha, Shaman, Rasta, Hermes, Esotericism, Secret Mysticism, Gnosticism, Eckhart Tolle, Malidoma some from the Dagara tribe, McKenna and Alan Watts, Nietzsche, Carl Jung, Zen, Eternal Tao, martial arts, Musashi, street wisdom… Many artists, I really appreciate MF DOOM and Basquiat. Ancient conquerors like Caesar and Hannibal, and even billionaires such as Alex Hormozi.

My takeaway is to individualise to your highest calling in the face of uncertainty and create from your true inner being, and take action with faith. Fully commit to that action, don't let anyone else tell you how to live, burn the boats.
